The idea quickly spread to neighborhoods across the country. It worked because ordinary people understood both sides of it. Someone may need help today and have something to share tomorrow.

Bambike combines locally sourced bamboo, abaca fibers, and Filipino craftsmanship to create sturdy bicycles. Working with rural craftsmen known as Bambuilders, the social enterprise connects sustainable transportation with fair-wage livelihood opportunities. The finished bikes can also be seen carrying visitors through the historic streets of Intramuros.
