More Than 2,000 Butterflies Take Flight

More than 2,000 butterflies, locally known as bila-bila, were released in Barangay Cawit, Marinduque as part of an activity promoting conservation and appreciation for the province's biodiversity. It was a simple but striking sight. Thousands of small wings taking flight together can make protecting local wildlife feel less like an abstract idea and more like something alive in front of us.
